Trauma-Informed Training for Teachers and Teams

Trauma-informed teaching professional development

Many children arrive at school carrying stress that adults cannot see. Our trauma-informed training for teachers helps staff understand what is driving behavior, respond with co-regulation instead of punishment, and build classrooms where every child, including Black children who are too often disciplined more harshly, can feel safe enough to learn.

Sessions are led by Linda Landum, RN, MSN-Ed, MA, a nurse educator and the author of What We Didn’t Get: How Poverty, Racism, and Trauma Interrupted Black Development. They are offered in person or virtually, for a single staff meeting, an in-service day or a series, and can be paired with copies of the book for a staff book study.
