About Linda Landum

My name is Linda Landum, RN, MSN-Ed, MA — nurse educator, writer, artist, and founder of Shrewd Wit Incorporated. For over two decades, I have dedicated my career to healing, teaching, and advocating for people who deserve more than the world has given them.

You may also know me as Linda Kamal or Linda Landum-Kamal. My book, What We Didn’t Get: How Poverty, Racism, and Trauma Interrupted Black Development, is published under the name Linda Landum.

I come from a family of teachers and storytellers. My mother taught me that true education doesn’t just change your mind — it changes your behavior and deepens your compassion for others. That belief has shaped everything I do: whether at the bedside in healthcare, in the classroom, or on the page.
